The 2016 WWE Draft: Adam & Jonathon Style

WWE Draft 2016

Hello everyone and welcome to mine and Jonathon’s version of the 2016 WWE Draft. As I am writing this up it is Monday 18th July 2016 and tomorrow is the very exciting episode of SmackDown which is moving, permanently, to Tuesday night’s LIVE! The very first episode in this new, permanent timeslot will be the return of the WWE draft as RAW and SmackDown separate into two distinct rosters for the first time in five years.

Well you just know we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to have a little bit of fun with something like this so we went out last week and drew this arrangement up (yes, I’m just getting around to writing and posting it now – I’ve been busy!). We decided first of all to set up some ground rules. We decided since we have similar tastes in many things that we would let a coin flip decide who would get first refusal on everything. So everything below this which is emboldened was the option chosen by the person who won the coin toss. For example, I won the coin toss to choose which show I wanted and Jonathon won the coin toss to choose which World Championship he wanted.

We also decided that as a result of splitting the Championship’s we realised that one show would get the women and one the tag team division. This was actually the only time we disagreed on what we wanted, he won the coin toss and chose the Women’s Division, I was delighted to get the Tag Team Division. We agreed a gentlemanly rule whereby I could choose tag teams as only one pick and in return he was allowed to pick two women for one draft pick to make it fair. This rule was not necessarily enforced so it was possible to select a single member of a tag team or for him to draft only one woman at a time (something that occurs later in the draft where both of us were trying desperately to avoid the dregs of the roster. We also made the executive decision that the three members of The New Day would be drafted together whereas Harper & Rowan where considered a tag team with Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman singles wrestlers. The Club were similar to that with AJ Styles having to be drafted as a singles competitor while Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows came as a tag team.

In addition to those rules there was sort of an unwritten rule that he would, for the most part, not pick any tag teams and I, for the most part, would not pick any women. This leads to them being picked a lot later than they probably would have been had we not had that agreement in place. This was not absolute though as he sought my permission to take two people we had noted as a tag team in order to build a stable (The Wyatt Family) whilst I sought his to take two women I intended to use as valets.

But enough about the rules, let’s get the pre-draft choosing out of the way…

Now that we have sorted that it is down to the nitty gritty. Jonathon won the toss to decide who would pick first in the main draft. The main draft was drawn up of the entire recognised WWE roster with notable exceptions for multiple reasons such as part-time players (The Rock, The Undertaker – although Brock Lesnar was made available for pick, as was Chris Jericho) and the long-term injured (Tyson Kidd etc.). This roster was then to be chosen until none remained so everyone was assigned to a show. Jonathon would have first choice, whilst I would have second and third, he would then have fourth and fifth and so on. As a result of losing this coin toss I was automatically allocated first choice in the special three drafts each supplemental draft made up of current members of the NXT roster. To explain the little notes within the table below. The number on the left denotes what number pick this person was on the respective person’s roster, the name comes next followed by alignment (Face, Heel, Tweener or Kane) and finally their overall position in the draft. The supplemental draft follows on directly below. Enjoy!

So what did you guys think? Agree with our picks? Disagree? Who ended up with the better roster? Will this be better or worse than the draft WWE produces tomorrow night? Have I written too many questions in a row?

We’d love to hear your answers to those questions and any comments in general. Jonathon and I are currently considering turning this into a relatively short-term booking project where we book separate shows leading up to maybe WrestleMania and then seeing whose booking was better but that is, as of yet, undecided. Meanwhile our WCW reboot booking is continuing over on Jonathon’s WCW blog and we do – I promise – have more rebooking series articles in the work. Several are already partially finished, one is completely and just needs writing up. Unfortunately, as always, real life and work etc. are getting in the way of us completing stuff and uploading it for you guys as quickly as we would like but we are doing our best and we appreciate each and every person who comes to read this or any of our blogs.

As per usual we hope you enjoyed this article and we hope to see you next time. Until then you can follow me (@watadam20) and Jonathon (@JLAspey) on twitter for further information on more projects as well as inane drivel probably revolving around wrestling, sport, Football Manager & politics. Until next time, thanks for reading!

The Rebooking Series - Part VIII (2010 TNA)

Hello, and welcome to Part VIII of the Rebooking Series. Yes, this is not a misprint. We’ve finally completed Part VIII and uploaded it for your reading pleasure. I will warn you, this is easily the longest Rebooking Series article to date – no excuses for the year between articles though – so it may be worth reading in stages.

Part VIII as I’m sure you’ll have guessed from the oh so imaginative title is based on 2010 TNA and it actually follows on directly from Part VII in the Rebooking Series which was based on the January 4th 2010 episode of TNA Impact (which can be read here). From there though we pick up where we left off and booking all the way from that rebooked January 4th edition of Impact all the way through until Bound For Glory 2010 – TNA’s biggest show of the year.

Anyway, this article has been long enough in the making so let’s get straight on with it, and we hope you guys enjoy it!

11/01/2010 TNA Impact (Summary):

Four Corner Survival Match for #1 Contendership to the X-Division Title: Kazarian d. Homicide, Jay Lethal and (the debuting) Shannon Moore when Kaz hits the Flux Capacitor on Homicide for the win.

Samoa Joe enters the ring and says he is throwing out an open challenge for Genesis. Christopher Daniels comes out and accepts his challenge.

Sarita and Taylor Wilde are interviewed by SoCal Val backstage and they reveal that they get their rematch for the Tag Team Championship’s at Genesis.

Jeff Jarrett comes out and cuts a cryptic promo about testing the loyalty of the so-called “TNA” guys. He is interrupted by The Pope who comes out and challenges Jarrett to a match at Genesis since he is offended by the insinuation that just because he hasn’t been here for as long as Jeff that that somehow means he doesn’t love TNA. Jarrett accepts.

Desmond Wolfe d. Douglas Williams. Wolfe beats Williams after countering the Chaos Theory into a roll-up to pick up the victory.

Post-match Williams offers Wolfe a place in World Elite. Wolfe politely declines leading to Magnus and Williams beating Wolfe down until Kurt Angle make the save. Angle and Wolfe clear the ring and then show respect. Later in the show Tenay announces that Angle and Wolfe will team up at Genesis to take on British Invasion.

Beer Money cut a promo backstage talking about their victory last week. They refer to their match at Genesis and insist they’re going to make it 2-0 on Sunday. 1 away from making sure the gold stays around their waists, “Sorry, about your damn luck!”

Tara comes out and cuts a promo about not being the one pinned in the three way Knockouts match last week. She says she will get her rematch at Genesis and when it’s one-on-one, she will not lose.

The final segment is a contract signing for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match at Genesis. AJ and Jeff sit either side of your stereotypical contract signing table with Bischoff and Hogan mediating. AJ cuts a fired up babyface promo about “I’ve been here since day one. I’ve defended this company against people who just wanted to come in, coast by on their reputation and make a quick buck (looks at Hogan) and I know that’s you Jeff (turns to Hardy) because you’ve been here before”.

Jeff retorts saying he’s not here to do that, he’s here to entertain the people and make TNA the biggest wrestling company on the planet. “I’m the guy to take TNA to the next level. And AJ, you’re just upset that you weren’t.”

This infuriates AJ who flips the table and gets in Hardy’s face. Hogan pushes himself between them and AJ responds by pushing Hogan to the ground. He then backs off, raises the belt and leaves the ring as Mike Tenay yells “That’s all we’ve got time for. We’ll see you all on Sunday at Genesis. AJ, Hardy. First time ever!”

Genesis PPV:

1. Frankie Kazarian d. Amazing Red © to become the new X-Division Champion

Red tries to hit the Sunset Flip (Code Red) on Kazarian but Kaz manages to block it and hits the Fade to Black to pick up the win.

2. Alissa Flash and Daffney © d. Sarita and Taylor Wilde to retain the Knockouts Tag Team Championships

Daffney hits Sarita with a Shining Wizard that knocks her out of the ring and allows herself and Flash to focus on Taylor. Eventually Daffney heads up top and hits a diving hurricanrana on Wilde before Flash hits the Air Raid Crash to get the pin and the win.

3. British Invasion (Brutus Magnus and Douglas Williams) w/ Eric Young d. Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle

EY is eventually ejected from ringside for interfering in the match. The contest is a hard fought one but eventually Magnus and Williams win because of their greater cohesion. Wolfe and Angle had a few episodes of miscommunication at important times in the match and eventually Williams hit the Chaos Theory on Angle to pick up the victory for his team. Post-match Angle tries to cheer Wolfe up who is clearly bitterly disappointed at the loss.

4. Samoa Joe d. Christopher Daniels

Joe picks up the win in a fairly long match clean following a Muscle Buster.

5. Awesome Kong © d. Tara to retain the TNA Knockouts Championship

Kong pins Tara clean following the Awesome Bomb.

6. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero d. Jeff Jarrett

At several times during the match Jarrett seems to be punishing Pope just to test his resolve and see how much fight he has in him. Eventually Jarrett brings a guitar into the ring, he swings for Pope but Pope ducks and then hits the DDE for the win.

7. Beer Money (James Storm and Robert Roode) © d. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) to go 2-0 up in the Best of Five Series for TNA World Tag Team Championships

Beer Money pick up the win when Storm pins Shelley with a roll-up after a long, hard fought encounter. Both teams shake hands once again after the match as a show of respect.

8. AJ Styles © vs. Jeff Hardy for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

The match goes fairly long and is comfortably older than twenty minutes when Jeff finally looks like he has the upper hand. He goes to the top rope and is in position for the Swanton (he is on the side closest to both the hard cam and the ramp) when Kazarian enters from the opposite corner distracting him. The referee goes over to stop Kazarian getting involved as Tenay and Taz sell the confusion of what Kazarian is doing out here. Then out of nowhere Beer Money come down the ramp and hit Jeff with a double beer bottle shot to the back of the head knocking Hardy off the top rope and into the ring. AJ has recovered by this point and he picks Jeff up before delivering the Styles Clash and the referee counts to three as AJ retains the World Heavyweight Championship. The newly aligned foursome (who will henceforth be referred to as Fortune) throw up their hand sign for Fortune and all four raise their respective title belts.

Hogan comes out to confront them but they attack him. Jarrett’s music hits and he comes out to make the save! Fortune back off but Jarrett immediately turns on Hogan and starts to beat him down before rolling him out of the ring with his foot. Jarrett then turns around so he is standing across the ring from Fortune. They then come closer together and have a big group hug as the PPV goes off the air with Tenay and Taz totally shocked.

Impact’s between Genesis and Against All Odds

-        Mike Tenay welcomes us to Impact Wrestling and brings out Jeff Jarrett and Fortune. He asks the five men to explain their actions from the night before. Jarrett takes the microphone and says he created this company and he loves it more than anything in the world. He says for years now people have been coming in thinking they could get a free ride and I let it pass thinking it would bring us publicity and more fans and once that happened we could get rid of those people and let the most deserving talents rule the roost. But Hulk Hogan and his cronies coming in is the straw that has broken the camel’s back. He says the five men in the ring with him right now “including you Mike” are the real TNA. “We’ve all been here for a long time and we’ve bled for this company, we’d do anything to see it succeed and last night we proved just how much it meant to us. We will not stop until we’ve got back OUR company and got rid of these invading a**holes.”

-        Amazing Red demands his rematch against Kazarian but Kaz refuses saying he is already wrestling Christopher Daniels tonight. Kazarian and Daniels go back and forth with a series of roll through pin attempts until Daniels finally gets the three count picking up the win in a non-title match. Kazarian gets on the mic after the match and says Daniels got the better of him tonight but he wants to face him at Against All Odds with the Championship on the line to see who the better man truly is. Red interrupts and mentions his rematch clause. Kazarian says great, let’s make it a three-way dance. All three men agree and Tenay later tells us that Hulk Hogan has made the match official.
-          Alissa and Daffney come out to the ring to celebrate retaining their Knockout Tag Team Titles against Taylor and Sarita when they are interrupted by The Beautiful People. TBP say Alissa and Daffney obviously hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down. They continue to run the Champs down until Alissa and Daffney offer to fight them right here, right now. TBP refuse but say they’ll fight them at Against All Odds for the Tag Team Titles.

-          Jeff Jarrett comes out and says The Pope showed him something at Genesis. He’d always thought of him as just another reject that didn’t have a clue about what this company was but now he’s not so sure. Jarrett invites Pope out but it is instead Matt Morgan who comes out. Morgan walks down to the ring and grabs a mic. He says they’ve found Pope backstage taken out and he knows that this is all Jarrett’s doing. Jarrett protests his innocence but Morgan won’t hear any of it and attacks Jarrett before laying him out with the Carbon Footprint.

-          Next week Hulk Hogan approaches Morgan and asks him if he would like to avenge what happened to his friend The Pope by facing Jarrett at Against All Odds. Morgan gleefully accepts.

-          A #1 Contenders Tournament takes place to create a challenger for Awesome Kong. There are four singles matches (Sarita d. Tara; Taylor Wilde d. ODB; Alissa Flash d. Madison Rayne and Angelina Love d. Daffney), followed by a fatal-4-way between the four winners which sees Sarita win by pinning tag team partner Taylor Wilde.

-          AJ Styles comes out in the final segment of the first Impact following Genesis to talk to the crowd before he can though Samoa Joe comes out and demands a title shot. AJ says he isn’t in the business of just handing out title shots but he has so much respect for Joe and everything he has done for TNA that he will gladly put his belt on the line. The two men agree to fight it out at Against All Odds, but Joe warns AJ not to pull anything like what happened at Genesis. AJ almost looks offended at the insinuation.

-          With Samoa Joe already set as the #1 contender to AJ Styles when Jeff Hardy returns after missing two Impact’s due to the beating he received at Genesis Jeff simply demands a match at Against All Odds. Hogan comes to the ring and agrees, he knows Jeff was screwed at Genesis so he’s going to give him a #1 Contenders match at Against All Odds against Rob Van Dam.

-          Kurt Angle comes out and asks Desmond Wolfe to come out to the ring, Wolfe comes down and Angle says he knows they lost at Genesis but that doesn’t mean this is over, he wants to team up one more time to take on the British Invasion. Wolfe accepts after a bit of cajoling from Angle. He and Angle team up in several warm up matches to work on their cohesion and they clearly become more and more confident with every week. After they win a match on the final Impact before the PPV British Invasion hit the ring and take both men down. They zip tie Wolfe to the ropes and focus their attack on Angle working on his ankle. Eventually Magnus goes to the top rope as Doug holds a chair around Angle’s ankle. Magnus jumps off the top rope and stamps on the chair.

-          Later in the show Hogan offers Wolfe the chance to postpone the match with it looking likely Angle won’t be able to make the show following the attack. Wolfe refuses and says he wants to fight the British Invasion, even if he has to do it alone.

Against All Odds
1)      X-Division Championship: Frankie Kazarian © d. Amazing Red and Christopher Daniels

A good X-Division match comes to an end when Daniels hits Angels Wings on Red, he looks to finish it off with a Best Moonsault Ever but when he gets to the top rope he is pushed off by Kazarian who steals the pinfall and retains the Championship.

2)      Knockout Tag Team Championship: Alissa Flash and Daffney © vs. The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Madison Rayne)

Velvet repeatedly tries to interfere which leads to Daffney forcibly ejecting her from the ringside area. This leaves Alissa alone with Angelina and Madison though who double team her, Angelina hits the Botox Injection but Daffney gets back in to break the pin attempt up at 2.9. Madison knocks Daffney to the outside and then distracts the referee which allows Angelina to retrieve one of the title belts. She lines up Alissa who ducks and Daffney, who is back on the ring apron, sprays green mist in Angelina’s eyes. Alissa rolls Angelina up as Daffney tackles Madison to the outside and the referee counts to three.

3)      Jeff Jarrett d. Matt Morgan

Jarrett cuts a promo pre-match about how he will teach Morgan a lesson in respect, this is his company and he’s not going to let rejects like Morgan bring it down. Morgan comes straight out and attacks Jarrett. After about ten minutes Jarrett manages to hit The Stroke on Morgan for the win.

4)      #1 Contenders Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam (30 Minute Time Limit Draw)

Hardy and RVD go thirty minutes before the time limit expires. Both men want five more minutes, as do the crowd but Hulk Hogan comes out and says he can’t give them any more time tonight but as a result of the draw they will both face the winner of tonight’s World Heavyweight Championship match between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe in a triple threat match at the next pay-per-view: Destination X.

5)      Knockouts Championship: Awesome Kong © vs. Sarita

A hard fought match between Kong and Sarita comes to an end when Kong reverses an attempted hurricanrana into the Implant Buster. After the match Angelina, Madison and Velvet beat Kong down until Daffney and Alissa Flash come out to make the save. The faces send The Beautiful People scurrying.

6)      Handicap Match: British Invasion (w/ Eric Young) vs. Desmond Wolfe

With Angle injured, Wolfe puts up a hell of a fight but in the end he succumbs to the numbers and British Invasion pick up the victory. Wolfe is once again offered a spot in World Elite with EY noting this is his “final opportunity to make something of himself”. Wolfe refuses and is mercilessly beaten down by all three men. The beatdown finally ends with Young hitting a top rope elbow drop on Wolfe through a table.

7)      Match 3 in the Best of 5 Series for the TNA Tag Team Titles: Beer Money © [2] vs. Motor City Machine Guns [0]

With Beer Money winning the first two matches they are full of confidence and dominate the early stages, beating down Chris Sabin and isolating him from tag team partner Alex Shelley. Eventually Sabin makes the hot tag to Shelley who cleans house, the match from then on is very back and forth until Beer Money go for the DWI on Shelley, this time though Sabin breaks it up. The two teams trade forearms until the Guns’ superior pace shows as they duck the forearms from Beer Money and hit a series of moves before Sabin picks Roode up and hits him with the Cradleshock. Shelley meanwhile sends Storm to the outside and the Machine Guns pick up the victory. Both teams show respect once more after the match.

8)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © vs. Samoa Joe

Joe and AJ have a great back and forth match that ends when Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch but AJ manages to flip it into a bridging pin attempt for the three count. After the match AJ offers Joe his hand. Joe looks confused and doesn’t trust AJ so he slides out of the ring. AJ looks disappointed but nonetheless celebrates retaining his World Heavyweight Championship.

Impact’s between Against All Odds and Destination X
-          Samoa Joe comes out and asks for a rematch with AJ Styles. He says he was seconds away from beating AJ and wants to prove it. Styles doesn’t come out but Jarrett does. Jarrett says he can’t speak for AJ but Joe is exactly the type of person Jarrett sees as the future of this company. Joe asks Jarrett to get to the point. Jarrett says we don’t want to fight against you, we want to fight alongside you to rid this company of the cancer within. Joe refuses and attacks Jarrett. This sets up a match between the two for Destination X.

-          Daniels comes out and talks about being so close to becoming the X-Division Champion. He wants Kazarian one-on-one at Destination X, Kazarian accepts.

-          Generation Me debut and are telling the crowd they want the winners of the Best of 5 Series in a Tag Title match when they are interrupted by World Elite. World Elite challenge them to a match and Gen Me accept, saying they will be happy to face any two of them. EY says he and Kiyoshi will see them at Destination X.

-          Awesome Kong, Alissa Flash and Daffney come out and demand a match with The Beautiful People. The Beautiful People say no but Hogan comes out and makes a Six Person Tag match for Destination X in which all the Championships will be on the line.

-          The Motor City Machine Guns come out and call out Beer Money. Beer Money come to the ring and the Guns say while they are loving their best of five series they want to spice it up and suggest picking a stipulation for Match Four. Beer Money like this and suggest a Street Fight for the match, the Guns agree providing they get to pick the stipulation for Match Five should it be required. Beer Money agree and say they’ll see the Guns at Destination X “SORRY, about your DAMN luck!”

-          Mr. Anderson debuts on Impact and says how happy he is to be there. Fortune come out and run Anderson down, saying he’s another reject that’s just come to collect a cheque. Anderson challenges any one of them to get in the ring but all of the members of Fortune get in instead and attack Anderson. Pope comes out with a steel chair in hand and Fortune scarper. Pope picks Anderson up and they embrace. Pope says it would be an honour to face Anderson in his first pay-per-view match. Anderson agrees and the match is set.

-          AJ trades insults with Hardy and RVD throughout the month. At the contract signing it all breaks down and AJ tries to attack both men. They team up and take AJ out but while both men celebrate Jeff turns round into a spinning heel kick from RVD who then goes to the top and hits a Five Star Frog Splash. RVD raises AJ’s Championship over a fallen Jeff Hardy while a furious AJ clutches his head in pain as he sits midway up the ramp as the show goes off the air.

-          British Invasion come out on the second Impact after Against All Odds to brag about how they took Desmond Wolfe out when they are interrupted by a returning Kurt Angle. Angle comes down to the ring and says he wants a match with them at Destination X. Williams and Magnus laugh and ask Kurt if he’s sure. He is, so they agree to the match. Kurt then says “But boys, I won’t be coming alone.” With that Desmond Wolfe’s theme hits and he heads down to the ring (albeit bandaged up). Williams and Magnus are fuming and attempt to attack Angle and Wolfe but the faces get the upper hand and clear the ring. Magnus grabs a microphone and says “This time we’re gonna beat you boys so badly that neither of you will ever be able to return again. We’ll face you, but only if it’s No Disqualification”. Angle and Wolfe look at each other and smile. Wolfe picks up a mic and says “You’re on, and come Destination X you two pricks are gonna get what’s coming to you!”

Destination X:
1)      X-Division Championship: Frankie Kazarian © vs. Christopher Daniels (20 Minute Time Limit Draw)

Kazarian and Daniels wrestle until the 20 minute X-Division time limit expires. After the match Kazarian shakes Daniels hand and offers him a place in Fortune. Daniels refuses and leaves the ring.

2)      Generation Me d. Eric Young and Kiyoshi

Generation Me pick up the victory when they hit More Bang For Your Buck on Kiyoshi. Post-match Young attacks Kiyoshi, kicking him out of World Elite.

3)      Street Fight Match 4 of 5 for the TNA World Tag Team Championships: Beer Money © [2] vs. Motor City Machine Guns [1]

A great back and forth encounter ends when Sabin spears Roode through a table on the outside this allows Shelley to hit Sliced Bread #2 on Storm through 4 set up chairs in the ring for the pin and the win to level up the series. Post-match Hogan comes out and announces that with the series now being level Beer Money have a choice to make. At Lockdown it will be Team Hogan vs. a team of Jeff Jarrett’s choosing in a 5-on-5 Lethal Lockdown match, it will also be the location of the final match in the Beer Money vs. Machine Guns best of five series. Beer Money will have to either appear in both matches or forfeit the titles to the Machine Guns, the choice is theirs.

4)      All Knockouts Championships on the line: Awesome Kong © and Alissa Flash and Daffney © vs. The Beautiful People (Angelina Love, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky)

The Beautiful People constantly use underhanded tactics to get the upper hand on first Alissa and then Daffney leaving Kong on the outside the entire match, frustrated by her inability to get in the match. Eventually Daffney manages to escape and tags her in leading to Kong cleaning house – with a little help from Alissa – before she hits the Implant Buster on Velvet for the victory.

5)      Jeff Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe

Joe unleashes all his frustrations from not winning the World Title on Jarrett. Joe hits a Muscle Buster and arguably could beat Jarrett but he wants to continue the punishment, this mistake allows Jarrett to small package Joe to pick up the victory. After the match Jarrett offers his hand again but Joe, even more exasperated, pushes him to the floor and leaves.

6)      “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero d. Mr. Anderson

Anderson’s first match in TNA is a competitive one but it ultimately ends in defeat when Pope hits the DDE for the victory.

7)      No Disqualification Match: British Invasion vs. Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle

In what is a brutal affair both sides beat the living hell out of one another. The finish comes when Angle hits an Angle Slam from the top rope through a table on Magnus but Williams breaks it up at the count of 2.9. Wolfe comes in the ring though and locks the London Dungeon in on Williams. Angle recovers and locks in an anklelock on Magnus. A simultaneous tap out follows and Wolfe and Angle pick up the win.

8)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam

AJ wins clean after hitting a Stylesclash on RVD.

Impact’s between Destination X and Lockdown
-          The Machine Guns come out and call out Beer Money. They say they feel what Hulk Hogan said last night at Destination X was unfair. They offer to fight Beer Money next week instead of waiting until Lockdown. Beer Money say they appreciate this and they look forward to locking horns with the Guns in seven days. Beer Money go to leave but Shelley says “we’re not done quite yet. Since we took it to match five we get to pick this match’s stipulation. And we choose… a ladder match!” The Guns smile and Beer Money look a little worried but regain their composure and bump fists with the Guns “See you next week boys”.

-          Impact Main Event: Match 5 of 5 in the Best of 5 Series for the TNA World Tag Team Championships: Beer Money © [2] vs. Motor City Machine Guns [2] in a Ladder Match:
-          After a hellacious bout Beer Money hit the DWI on Sabin and Storm sets up a ladder. Both he and Roode climb towards the top but at the last second Alex Shelley hits a springboard dropkick knocking both men off the ladder. Storm falls to the ring and rolls to the outside as Roode rolls to the corner of the ring. Shelley hits an Air Raid Crash on Roode and re-sets up the ladder. He’s almost at the top when Storm crawls back into the ring. Storm tries to pull Shelley down but Shelley kicks him away. Undeterred Storm climbs right up to where Shelley is and starts punching him in the back of the head. Shelley fights back with elbows and grabs a hold of Storm’s head before hitting Sliced Bread #2 from the top of the ladder through a table below. With Roode taken out in the corner and Shelley and Storm lying motionless in the wreckage of the table a recovering Sabin ascends the ladder and grabs the Championships to give Motor City their first ever TNA World Tag Team Championship win.
-          Post-match all four men hug and Beer Money wrap the Tag Team titles around the waist of the new Champions before raising their hands as the show goes off the air.

-          British Invasion, frustrated with their tag team loss at Destination X, come out and call out World Elite leader Eric Young. They question where he was and why he didn’t help them. Eric tries to explain his actions but Magnus and Williams brutally destroy him in the fashion that has become expected of the duo. Eventually Generation Me come out to make the save but the damage is done. Magnus, furious at being interrupted, challenges Gen Me to a Tag Team match at Lockdown. Gen Me accept.

-          Hulk Hogan comes out and announces the relationship between TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling is only going from strength to strength and as a result he has signed three inter-promotional matches for Lockdown. The first will see former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi take on Christopher Daniels. The next will see reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions No Limit challenge the Motor City Machine Guns for the TNA World Tag Team Championships. And the last pits a former G1 Climax winner in Hirooki Goto against rising star Desmond Wolfe. Hogan says the relationship with NJPW grows stronger by the day and this is just the start for the two companies, expect to see more in the future.

-          A fatal-4-way match takes place to determine the #1 contender to the Knockouts Championship and Alissa Flash defeats Angelina Love, Daffney and Sarita when she pins Daffney. Post-match Daffney slaps her tag team partner and leaves.

-          After his impressive performances in recent months Hulk Hogan names The Pope as #1 contender and states he’ll get his World Heavyweight Title match at Lockdown. This infuriates Fortune who will now be a member short in Lethal Lockdown.

-          On the final Impact before Lockdown Hulk Hogan comes out with Team Hogan which has been announced periodically over the Impact episodes and will be represented by Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson, Samoa Joe and Rob Van Dam. Hogan demands to know who the fifth member of Team Jarrett is (in addition to Jarrett, Beer Money and Frankie Kazarian). Jarrett and Fortune come out and Jarrett rips into Hogan, he also states that “This isn’t Team Jarrett, this is Team TNA!” He asks for a match between one of his guys and one of Hogan’s to determine who will get the advantage of having the first entrant into Lethal Lockdown. Hogan agrees, as long as Jarrett agrees to announce the fifth member of his team after the match. Jarrett nods.

-          Impact Main Event: Robert Roode d. Rob Van Dam clean to earn Team TNA the opening position in Lethal Lockdown.

-          After the match a frustrated Hogan demands to know who the fifth member is and pushes Jarrett. This leads to a brawl between all the men in the match as Hogan escapes to the outside. Team Hogan has the upper hand when all of a sudden the lights go out. Sting’s theme music hits and The Icon makes his way to the ring! He lays waste to everybody with a baseball bat and stands tall in the centre of the ring before pointing his baseball bat at Hogan who is still on the outside as if to say ‘You’re next!’

Lockdown
1)      British Invasion d. Generation Me

A great tag team match comes to an end when Max Buck goes for a superkick on Magnus who ducks and the superkick takes out the referee. With the official down Doug Williams immediately grabs a chair and takes out Jeremy Buck with it. He and Magnus then beat Max Buck down in the ring and set up a chair in the ring. Williams then hits the Chaos Theory through a chair and the referee recovers to count the three.

2)      Hiroshi Tanahashi d. Christopher Daniels

Tanahashi and Daniels have a good back and forth match that ends when Tanahashi gets a boot up when Daniels goes for the Best Moonsault Ever. Tanahashi hits the Slingblade and then follows it up with a High Fly Flow for the win.

3)      TNA World Tag Team Championships, Tornado Tag Rules: Motor City Machine Guns © d. No Limit

The tornado tag rules lead to a crazy match which ends when Sabin hits the Cradleshock on Takahashi for the win. Post-match Hogan announces that, by virtue of tonight’s win the Machine Guns will challenge No Limit for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships at Wrestling Dontaku in May.

4)      Steel Cage Match for the Knockouts Championship: Awesome Kong © vs. Alissa Flash (w/ Daffney)

Daffney is ejected for trying to interfere despite Alissa asking her repeatedly not to. Alissa puts up a great showing including hitting an Air Raid Crash on Kong but Kong somehow manages to kick out and eventually manages to hit a top rope Implant Buster for the win.

5)      Desmond Wolfe d. Hirooki Goto

The match comes to an end when Goto goes for Shouten Kai but Wolfe rolls through and locks in a Kimura Lock before transferring to the London Dungeon for the tapout victory.

6)      Steel Cage Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © vs. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero

Pope gives AJ arguably his hardest test to date but comes up short and AJ wins after two Stylesclash’s. After the match AJ shows respect to a lifeless Pope. The commentators wonder if AJ is realising all the mistakes he and Fortune have made.

7)      Lethal Lockdown Match: Team Hogan (Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson, Samoa Joe and Rob Van Dam) vs. Team TNA (Jeff Jarrett, Frankie Kazarian, Beer Money and Sting)

The Lethal Lockdown match begins with Jeff Jarrett and Mr. Anderson. Due to winning the right to have the first entry, Team TNA hold the advantage for most of the match. Sting is the last entrant for Team TNA. Jeff Hardy follows him as the last entrant of Team Hogan. Once the weapons are lowered the match goes to its usual crazy levels. Beer Money, Anderson and Joe are fighting on the outside. Angle spears Jarrett through the cage door which takes both men out and Kazarian and Jeff Hardy are fighting on top of the cage until Hardy climbs a Ladder on top of the cage and splashes on top of Kazarian through a table. This leaves Sting and RVD in the ring. RVD goes for the Five Star Frog Splash but Sting grabs his baseball bat and uses it to hit RVD on the way down. Sting then locks in the Scorpion Death Lock and earns the submission win. Team TNA celebrate as Hogan looks bereft atop the ramp as the show ends.

Impact’s between Lockdown and Sacrifice
-          Sarita and Taylor Wilde win a gauntlet match to earn the right to face Alissa Flash and Daffney at Sacrifice.
-          On the second Impact after Sacrifice Taylor is discovered backstage having being attacked by a mystery assailant.

-          A week later Sarita comes out and calls out Alissa and Daffney accusing them of taking Taylor out. Alissa is quick to deny the allegation but Daffney is not so quick. This leads to Alissa looking confused and Sarita attacking Daffney. The two brawl until Alissa separates them and drags Daffney to the back saying they need to talk.

-          Next week Alissa comes out and calls Daffney out saying they need to clear the air and talk about “What you’ve done, Daffney”. Daffney comes out and gets into the ring, clearly upset with Alissa she says “I can’t believe you don’t trust me” but before she can elaborate Sarita comes out. She says Taylor definitely won’t be able to make Sacrifice but she’s brought in a replacement to help her take the Championships back from Alissa and Daffney. She introduces Hamada as her tag team partner.

-          Hulk Hogan comes out and announces Mr. Anderson as the new #1 contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. AJ Styles comes out and is fuming, claiming that Anderson has done nothing to earn a title shot. In fact, he is yet to win a match in the company. He says it is a joke and another example of blatant Hogan favouritism as he tries to ruin the company that AJ built “with my blood, with my sweat, with my tears!” AJ is so angry he goes to attack Hogan which brings Anderson out, leading to a brawl between the two.

-          British Invasion come out and demand a Tag Team Championship match but are interrupted by Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle who point out they defeated British Invasion last time the two teams faced off. Hogan sets the main event for tonight’s show as a #1 Contenders Match for the Tag Team Titles.

-          Impact Main Event: Wolfe/Angle d. British Invasion: A close fought match ends when Wolfe attempts to lariat Magnus who ducks, and the referee is taken out. With both Angle and Williams down on the outside Wolfe and Magnus continue fighting until they both go for a lariat when rebounding off the ropes and take each other down. This allows a returning Eric Young to attack Magnus. When Wolfe recovers he picks Magnus up, unaware of what occurred while he was down, and sets him up for the Tower of London. A recovering referee counts to three as Angle prevents Williams from getting in the ring to break it up.

-          The following week Williams and Magnus come out and demand a match with Eric Young. He comes out and accepts but before anything else can occur Hulk Hogan comes out and says at Sacrifice it will be Generation Me (who he had planned as the opponents for the losers of last week’s #1 contenders match) vs. British Invasion vs. Eric Young and a partner of his choice.

-          Over the coming weeks Young alludes to his partner for Sacrifice in cryptic ways but refuses to reveal who it is saying British Invasion and, indeed, the audience will have to wait for the PPV to find out who it is.

-          Christopher Daniels comes out and calls out Frankie Kazarian. He says he knows they both had other things on their mind last month with Daniels having a dream match against Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazarian being focused on the Lethal Lockdown match but they still haven’t settled their time limit draw from Destination X. Daniels wants one more match at Sacrifice, a no time limit match for the X-Division Championship. Kazarian smiles, agrees and hugs Daniels. Daniels is somewhat confused but accepts it and says he’ll see Kazarian at Sacrifice.

-          Jeff Jarrett comes out and brags about the “real TNA” coming out on top at Lethal Lockdown, proving once and for all that they are better than Hogan’s cronies. This upsets Jeff Hardy who comes out and challenges Jarrett to a match at Sacrifice. Jarrett accepts and says “I can’t wait to beat your ass”.

-          A gauntlet match takes place to determine the #1 contender to the Knockouts Championship. It comes down to fellow Beautiful People members Angelina Love and Madison Rayne. Both women deliberately get counted out leading to confusion over where this leaves the #1 contendership. Hogan comes out and says The Beautiful People are making a mockery of the sport and he’s not going to reward them with a title match but Kong comes out and says she’ll happily take on both at Sacrifice. Hogan acquiesces to her demands and makes the match official.

-          Beer Money approach Samoa Joe over the month making overtures to him and telling him that they should be fighting for the same side, TNA. Eventually Pope gets sick of this and comes out to confront Beer Money during one of these attempts to draw Joe over to Fortune’s side. He comes out to the ring and demands a match at Sacrifice: him and Joe vs. Beer Money. Beer Money accept and Joe remains emotionless and silent throughout. He eventually does leave with Pope though.

Sacrifice:
1)      #1 Contenders Match for the TNA World Tag Team Championships: British Invasion d. Team Canada (Petey Williams and Eric Young) and Generation Me

A fast paced match ends when Doug Williams hits the Chaos Theory on Petey Williams followed by an elbow drop from Magnus to get the pinfall victory.

2)      No Time Limit Match for the X-Division Championship: Frankie Kazarian © vs. Christopher Daniels

Kazarian and Daniels go back and forth for in excess of 20 minutes before Kazarian reverses an attempted Angel’s Wings into Fade to Black and retains his title. After the match Daniels hugs Kazarian and raises his hand.

3)      Jeff Hardy d. Jeff Jarrett

Hardy picks up the win clean after a Twist of Fate.

4)      TNA Knockouts Championship: Awesome Kong © d. Angelina Love and Madison Rayne

Kong retains following an Implant Buster to Madison Rayne.

5)      Beer Money d. The Pope and Samoa Joe

Beer Money pick up the win when Joe turns on Pope. Beer Money hit DWI and pick up the win. After the match Joe shakes hands with Beer Money then leaves.

6)      TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Alissa Flash and Daffney © vs. Hamada and Sarita

Miscommunication and a general level of distrust costs Alissa and Daffney and leads to Hamada pinning Daffney following a moonsault. The new Champs celebrate and Alissa leaves the ring, refusing to even look at Daffney as she does so. Daffney eventually retreats backstage as Hamada and Sarita continue celebrating before they are attacked by two hooded individuals who reveal themselves to be Tara and MsChif. The two beat Hamada and Sarita down before revealing they were the people who took Taylor Wilde out. They say they’re coming after the Knockouts Tag Team Championships.

7)      TNA World Tag Team Championships: Motor City Machine Guns © vs. Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle

Angle and Wolfe look to have the match in hand when Jarrett comes out and distracts them. Angle follows Jarrett around the ring and attacks him but while his head is turned the Guns hit Made in Detroit on Wolfe and retain their titles.

8)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © d. Mr. Anderson

AJ retains his Championship by hitting Anderson with a Stylesclash for the clean victory.

Impact’s between Sacrifice and Slammiversary
-          Jeff Jarrett comes out and explains why he interfered in the Tag Team Championship match at Sacrifice. He says it should be quite obvious, the Motor City Machine Guns may not stand alongside himself and Fortune but they epitomise what Jarrett believes in. They epitomise what TNA stands for. They epitomise everything that was once great about this company. Kurt Angle comes out and tells Jarrett to shut up. He gets in Jarrett’s face and the two brawl around ringside.

-          Hulk Hogan makes the first match for Slammiversary between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle.

-          Pope is in the ring and calls out Samoa Joe. He says he trusted Joe and then Joe turned on him. Joe comes out and says he likes Pope and he’s been talking to Jarrett and AJ and he wants to bring Pope over to the right side. Joe says “Jarrett and AJ aren’t sure about you, but I am. Join me Pope, join the real TNA”. Pope refuses and spits in Joe’s face. This infuriates Joe who beats the holy hell out of Pope before setting up a table and hitting a Muscle Buster through it.

-          Pope comes out the next week and announces that while he’s not medically cleared to fight tonight he has spoken to Hulk Hogan and he has authorised a match between Pope and Joe for Slammiversary. On top of that it will be a No Holds Barred match.

-          Frankie Kazarian comes out and says the match he had against Christopher Daniels took everything out of him and he was so proud of that match but that’s history and he wants to know who his next opponent is. A #1 contenders match takes place between Jay Lethal and Rob Van Dam. RVD wins and tells Kazarian after the match that he’s going to “put him in his place”.

-          Alissa Flash comes to the ring and calls Daffney out. She apologises for not believing Daffney and says she hopes she can put this behind them and get their Tag Team Titles back. Daffney doesn’t say a word, lets Alissa finish and then simply walks away.

-          Alissa informs Hulk Hogan that herself and Daffney are having problems and she’s not sure if they will be able to take up the option of their rematch clause. Hogan says not to worry, he’ll find another team to take on Hamada and Sarita and once Daffney and Alissa work out their problems they’ll be first in line for a title shot. Hogan has a proposition for Alissa. He really loved her match with Kong at Lockdown. And since Kong has pretty much faced every other challenger he would love to see a rematch. Alissa is thrilled.

-          Hogan comes out to the ring but is interrupted by Tara and MsChif. They demand a tag team title match but before Hogan can respond he is interrupted again. The Beautiful People come out and mock Tara and MsChif. They say they are the most beautiful knockouts ever and they deserve the Championship match. Hogan says he likes where this is going but before he can make a decision he is interrupted by a returning ODB. She gets in the ring and says she wants in on the fun and has a tag team partner to boot. She brings out the debuting Sara Del Rey, who looks not all that pleased and seems to get more and more annoyed by ODB as the segment goes on. Hogan says he is sick of being interrupted and therefore he is making a four-way tag team match for Slammiversary where Hamada and Sarita will defend their Championships against Tara & MsChif, ODB & Sara Del Rey and The Beautiful People.

-          Impact Main Event: Beer Money d. Christopher Daniels and Mr. Anderson – Beer Money pick up the win when Daniels turns on Anderson and joins Beer Money in beating him down. A superkick into a spinebuster followed by a Best Moonsault Ever allows Storm to pin Anderson. The post-match celebration does not last long as Generation Me come out to make the save.

-          The next week Mr. Anderson and Gen Me challenge Beer Money and Daniels to a six-man tag match which is accepted willingly by the three men. Anderson wants to know why Daniels turned on him. Daniels says it’s nothing personal then stops himself and says actually it is. He says he and Kazarian tore the house down at Sacrifice and he was so proud. He decided to watch his old friend AJ in the main event, even though they hadn’t been seeing eye to eye in wrestling recently they were still best friends outside the business. He was watching the video package that was hyping the match up and something AJ said struck a chord. Anderson hasn’t won a single match since debuting in TNA and yet here he was getting a Championship match, whilst Daniels pushed AJ to the limit at Final Resolution and yet has never even had a chance at the World Championship since. It was a realisation, a realisation that everything AJ had been saying was true. He knew what he had to do. He had to stand up, and fight for the company he loves – TNA.

-          British Invasion spend the entire month running the Motor City Machine Guns down and talking about how they’re going to take the belts away from them at Slammiversary.

-          A Battle Royal takes place to crown a new #1 contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. It is won by Desmond Wolfe. After the match AJ gets in the ring, tells Desmond he wouldn’t be here if his deal had gone through with WWE, tells him he is disgusting and slaps him. This infuriates Wolfe who goes after AJ but AJ rolls out of the ring and walks up the ramp, holding the title aloft.

-          Sting returns for the first time since Lockdown and cuts a promo talking about how you just can’t trust Hulk Hogan. He’s seen this before, Hulk comes into a company and everybody treats him like a messiah. They give him and his friends everything they want because they believe Hogan will bring them more and more success. Sting witnessed this first hand in a company known back then as WCW. He saw Hogan destroy what he, Ric Flair and countless others had spent years building. He will not allow him to do the same thing to TNA. Jeff Hardy interrupts and says one of the main things he was looking forward to when he signed with TNA was meeting and wrestling Sting. He said he used to look up to Sting. “You were an Icon man, everything I dreamed I could be. I thought you were awesome. What happened?” Sting cuts him off and calls him scum, saying he sees himself in Jeff but not Sting as he is now. The Sting he’s ashamed of from back in the day. The selfish Sting, that’s what he sees in Jeff Hardy. Hardy retorts by saying whilst meeting Sting and finding out the person he really was, was a let-down he still dreams of wrestling such a legend so he’s out here to find out if they can make Jeff Hardy vs. Sting a reality at Slammiversary. Sting accepts, and promises to teach Jeff a lesson.

Slammiversary
1)      Knockouts Tag Team Championships: Hamada and Sarita © vs. MsChif and Tara vs. The Beautiful People vs. ODB and Sara Del Rey

A chaotic Knockouts match comes to an end when Sarita destroys MsChif on the outside and spears Tara into the barricade. Acting like a woman possessed she then climbs back in the ring and hits her version of the Tiger Driver on ODB before Hamada finishes her off with a Moonsault to get the pinfall victory. Sarita and Hamada celebrate but are attacked by Tara and MsChif. The four ladies brawl around ringside and then backstage. The Beautiful People choose just to get out of the danger zone as quickly as possible leaving just ODB and Sara Del Rey in the ring. Del Rey helps ODB back to her feet but then kicks her in the gut and hits her with the Royal Butterfly.

2)      X-Division Championship: Frankie Kazarian © vs. Rob Van Dam

Kazarian seems to have the match in hand and is going for Fade to Black when Mr. Anderson comes through the crowd and distracts him. This allows RVD to roll him up and win the Championship! Kazarian is furious and attacks Anderson but RVD comes to his aid and both men throw Kazarian out of the ring. Kazarian calls for backup which brings out Beer Money and Christopher Daniels. The four men get the upper hand until Generation Me come down and even the odds which leads to…

3)      Beer Money and Christopher Daniels (w/ Frankie Kazarian) d. Generation Me and Mr. Anderson (w/ Rob Van Dam)

Kazarian and RVD remain at ringside, occasionally becoming involved in proceedings. Generation Me seem to have the match in hand with Robert Roode almost out on his feet. At this point though Kazarian hops up on the apron to distract the referee. He is taken out by a combination of Anderson and RVD but the distraction allows James Storm to smash a beer bottle over the head of Max Buck. He then clotheslines Jeremy Buck out of the ring while Daniels takes out Anderson allowing Roode to pin Max when the referee’s attention returns to the ring earning Beer Money and Daniels the victory. Post-match the four members of Fortune celebrate that victory but commiserate Kazarian on his loss.

4)      Jeff Hardy vs. Sting

Midway through the match Fortune come down to ringside with the intention of helping Sting but Sting calls them off telling them, “I have to beat him on my own”. Later on Jeff goes for a Swanton Bomb but Sting gets his knees up. Hardy, hurt, staggers backwards into Sting who hits a snap Scorpion Death Drop but at 2.9 Jeff gets his foot on the ropes. Sting picks Jeff up and goes for it again but this time Jeff fights out and hits a snapmare. He goes for a dropkick on the seated Sting but Sting catches his feet and locks in the Scorpion Deathlock causing Jeff to tap out.

5)      TNA Tag Team Championships: Motor City Machine Guns © vs. British Invasion

Sabin and Magnus are the legal men but all four men are in the ring fighting. Shelley goes for Sliced Bread #2 on Williams but as he gets to the top rope Williams throws him to the outside. Sabin is punching Magnus in the corner but Williams comes to his partner’s aid and hits the Chaos Theory on Sabin. Magnus hops to the top rope and hits an elbow drop to pick up the win, and the Championships, for British Invasion.

6)      Knockouts Championship: Awesome Kong © vs. Alissa Flash

Midway through the match Daffney comes down to ringside which distracts Alissa and allows Kong to take advantage. Daffney stays at ringside to cheer Alissa on. Once Flash regains her composure she continues to fight against Kong despite Kong’s power. Flash refuses to stay down but eventually Kong hits the Implant Buster but Flash kicks out! Kong picks her up again but Flash fights out of it this time, she lands on her feet and reverses an attempted Lariat into a Crucifix Bomb. She then shows off power of her own as she hits a German Suplex on Kong. She picks her up and goes for the Air Raid Crash but she can’t get Kong up for it. Kong hits her with a spinning backfist and goes for the Awesome Bomb but Alissa turns it into a facebuster. She stands up and hits a sick looking Curb Stomp which gives her the three count and the Championship. Daffney immediately jumps into the ring and hugs Alissa. Her smile fades slightly as Alissa raises the Championship and celebrates her victory. She recovers though and applauds Alissa and walks to the back with her, raising her arm as they reach the top of the ramp.

7)      No Holds Barred: Samoa Joe vs. The Pope

Both men throw everything at each other in a brutally violent match. The finish comes when Pope sets up six chairs in their seated position in the centre of the ring – three on either side, facing each other. He then lifts Joe to the top rope and goes for a Superplex but Joe slips through his legs and crotches Pope on the top rope. He pulls Pope down so Pope is hanging down in a Tree of Woe. Joe retrieves a chair and wedges it under the bottom rope in front of Pope’s face and then goes for his patented Facewash, hitting Pope with the chair in the process. Joe props a lifeless Pope up onto the top rope and hits a Muscle Buster through the chairs in the ring. He then pins Pope for the victory.

8)      Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle

After a typically back and forth Jarrett/Angle match, Angle has Jarrett in the Anklelock but Jarrett rolls through and causes Angle to his head off an earlier exposed turnbuckle allowing Jarrett to hit The Stroke and pick up the win.

9)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match: AJ Styles © vs. Desmond Wolfe

Wolfe puts in his best performance to date in this match and towards the end he has AJ in a headlock, AJ pushes him off and drops to the canvas, Wolfe bounces of the ropes but holds on as AJ dropkicks mid-air. Wolfe picks AJ up with a deadlift German for a near fall. He switches into the London Dungeon but AJ makes it to the ropes. He pops AJ on the top rope and goes for the Tower of London but AJ fights out and kicks him away before jumping from the turnbuckle with a springboard forearm. Both men recover to their feet and exchange blows until AJ hits a discus forearm sending Desmond towards the ropes, he uses his momentum to rebound off the ropes and goes for his Jawbreaker Lariat but AJ ducks and hits a Pele Kick. AJ picks Wolfe up and goes for the Stylesclash. He hits it and the referee counts but Desmond kicks out at 2.9! AJ is shocked. He picks Wolfe up and goes for it again but Desmond kicks his way free and hits a huge lariat. He covers AJ but AJ kicks out. Both men slowly get to their feet, just beating the count of ten. AJ goes for another Pele but this time Desmond gets out of the way, he attempts a lariat but AJ ducks and Wolfe takes out the referee. Wolfe checks on the referee and this momentary hesitation allows AJ to hit him with an Enzuigiri but Wolfe once again uses his momentum and this time connects with the Jawbreaker Lariat. There is no referee though so Wolfe tries to revive him, when he turns around he finds a guitar smashed over his head by Jeff Jarrett. Jeff disposes of the evidence and pulls AJ on top of Wolfe. The referee recovers and counts the victory for AJ.

Impact’s between Slammiversary and Victory Road
-          AJ comes out to celebrate his victory with Fortune. He talks about how he is the greatest wrestler on the planet when all of a sudden he is interrupted by unfamiliar (to any non-New Japan fans) music. Out waltzes Shinsuke Nakamura. He comes down to the ring, strokes AJ’s World Heavyweight Championship and simply says “Victory Road”. Nakamura walks off and AJ just stands there speechless. The following Impact’s have video packages showcasing Nakamura and his history in Japan. Particularly focusing on his IWGP Heavyweight Championship wins and his matches against stars recognisable by North American fans such as The Great Muta, Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle.

-          Impact Main Event, TNA World Tag Team Championships: British Invasion © d. Motor City Machine Guns. A referee distraction allows Williams to low blow Sabin and small package him to retain the Championships. Post-match British Invasion beat down the Guns until Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle make the save. Angle gets on the microphone and challenges British Invasion to a Championship match citing his and Wolfe’s previous victories over the Englishmen. The Guns aren’t done yet though and once they have recovered they themselves demand another match with the British Invasion. Hogan comes out and makes next week’s main event a #1 Contenders Match between Wolfe/Angle & The Guns.

-          Impact Main Event, #1 Contenders Match: Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle d. Motor City Machine Guns. Wolfe and Angle pick up the win with a Lariat assisted German Suplex combination.
-          The Guns are clearly devastated after their match but Hogan comes out and says they shouldn’t be too upset because he has decided that after their great tag team title run they are the team he wants to represent TNA in an International Challenge match at Victory Road. He says as evidenced by last week’s announcement it is clear that TNA’s and New Japan’s relationship is going from strength to strength. In that vein at Victory Road the Motor City Machine Guns will face off against… Apollo 55.

-          Impact Main Event: Masato Tanaka and Shinsuke Nakamura d. AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian. Nakamura and Tanaka are in firm control when Fortune try to interfere, the referee clears them from ringside but as he is doing so Daniels slips in the other side of the ring, he goes to attack Nakamura but is met by Nakamura’s infamous straight right punch which knocks him out and sends him to the floor. The momentary distraction allows Kazarian to take advantage but Nakamura catches him with a straight right too and then hits the Landslide for the victory.

-          Sting comes out and talks about not just beating Jeff Hardy but humiliating him, making him tap out and showing how full of it he is. Sting says he hopes Jeff takes his ball and goes home because he doesn’t belong here. Jeff comes out and runs Sting down, he asks for a rematch but Sting just laughs. He says he proved at Slammiversary that he is better than Jeff. He doesn’t have to do it again. Jeff Jarrett slides into the ring behind Jeff and when Hardy turns in frustration at Sting’s answer, Jarrett smashes him in the head with a guitar. Sting bends down to Hardy’s lifeless body and screams at him to leave TNA for good.

-          A week later Hardy comes out and calls out Sting and Jarrett. Hardy says he is sick of these old-timers, incapable of accepting change and accepting that their time is gone. He challenges Jarrett and Sting to a tag team match at Victory Road. Before they can answer RVD attacks Jarrett from behind while Hardy attacks Sting. They take both men down and position them in the ring. Both Hardy and RVD ascend to the top ready to go for their respective top rope finishers but Jarrett and Sting recover to roll out of the ring and retreat.

-          ODB comes out and says she offered Sara Del Rey a chance at the big time and how was she repaid? By being attacked by her own tag team partner. She challenges Sara to a match at Victory Road. Sara accepts.

-          Daffney approaches Alissa backstage and says she knows things haven’t been great between them recently but she wants a chance at the Knockouts Championship and she knows Alissa can make it happen. Alissa looks a little uneasy but says she’ll have a word with Hulk Hogan, Daffney hugs her.

-          Hulk Hogan comes down to the ring for an announcement regarding the Knockouts Championship. He invites out Alissa Flash. Flash comes down to the ring but before Hogan can continue, Daffney comes down to the ring as well. Hogan is momentarily distracted but nevertheless continues and announces that “at Victory Road it will be Alissa Flash, defending her Knockouts Championship against Daffney [Daffney smiles] AND Awesome Kong in a three-way dance [Daffney’s face drops]”. She walks out of the ring without another word as Alissa shouts after her to come back.

-          Tara and MsChif attack Hamada and Sarita backstage leaving both women unconscious.

-          Two weeks later Hamada and Sarita come out to the ring and demand a match against Tara and MsChif, right here, right now. Tara and MsChif come out and say they are prepared to fight but not here, and not now. They name the time, Victory Road, and say they’ll only do it if Hamada and Sarita put their Championships on the line. Hamada and Sarita agree and we are later informed that Hogan has ratified the match.

-          Hogan announces a five-on-five tag for Victory Road as he attempts to teach Fortune a lesson. It will be Beer Money, Daniels, Kaz and Joe vs. Hogan’s handpicked team of Gen Me, Anderson, Pope and a mystery partner who will not be revealed until the match itself happens.

Victory Road
1)      Beer Money, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Samoa Joe d. Generation Me, Mr Anderson, Rhino and The Pope

Rhino is the last member of Pope’s team to come out and starts by hitting a Gore on Daniels and Kazarian. He tries to give Joe the same treatment but Joe knees him in the face. After that the action breaks down into a regular tag team match. The end comes when Rhino goes for a Gore on Roode but Roode moves and Storm superkicks him. They hit Rhino with the DWI and pick up the pinfall victory while the other team members provide defence against anybody trying to break the pin up.

2)      Sara Del Rey d. ODB

Del Rey wins a hard hitting match clean after hitting ODB with the Royal Butterfly. After the match Del Rey brutally destroys ODB ending with trapping ODB’s ankle in a chair, climbing to the top rope and jumping down to stamp on the chair, breaking ODB’s ankle.

3)      Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Jarrett and Sting

The match comes to an end when RVD is going for a Frog Splash on Sting. Jarrett crotches him on the top rope so Hardy clotheslines Jarrett over the top rope. He and RVD then double team Sting allowing RVD to hit Rolling Thunder and tag Hardy in who hits a Swanton Bomb for the win.

4)      Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Hamada and Sarita © vs. MsChif and Tara

A back and forth match comes to an end when Sarita hits a Tiger Driver on Tara. MsChif tries to get in the ring and the referee comes across to stop her. Sarita tags in Hamada who hits the Moonsault and goes for the pin. The referee turns around but orders Hamada out of the ring having not seen the tag. The confusion allows MsChif to drag Tara across the ring and tag herself in, in plain sight of the referee. She then attacks starts brawling with Sarita. Hamada tries to get back in but the referee forces her to go to the outside. The distraction though has allowed MsChif to spray green mist in Sarita’s face. She knocks Hamada off the apron and then hits a blinded Sarita with the Desecrator and pins her for the Tag Team Championships.

5)      International Challenge Match: Apollo 55 vs. Motor City Machine Guns

The two teams, having wrestled over the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship several times previously, show intimate knowledge of one another all match. Eventually the match breaks down and the Guns get several near falls, including one following Sabin hitting Cradleshock on Devitt at the same time as Shelley hit an Air Raid Crash on Taguchi. Taguchi kicked out though. The Guns go for an Electric Chair Drop combined with a Super Sliced Bread on Taguchi but Devitt breaks it up. He takes Shelley out to the outside and hits a Brainbuster on the floor. He gets back in the ring and combines with Taguchi to hit the Black Hole Vacation on Sabin for the victory.

6)      Knockouts Championship: Alissa Flash © vs. Awesome Kong vs. Daffney

Alissa and Daffney team up several times in the match to combat the size and threat of Kong. Eventually though it turns into every woman for herself. Later on Flash hits Kong with an Air Raid Crash but before she can go for the pin Daffney disposes of her to the outside and goes to pin Kong herself. Kong kicks out at 2. Daffney is clearly devastated and starts screaming. Kong recovers to her feet and charges at Daffney who manages to roll through and counter into a single leg Boston Crab. Kong manages to roll over and push Daffney off with her feet. She recovers to a seated position but Daffney bounces straight off the ropes and hits a Shining Wizard. She then locks in a Fujiwara Armbar – one of her tag partner Flash’s signature manoeuvres – on Kong. Just as it looks like Kong might tap Alissa rolls back into the ring and locks in a Kondo Clutch on Daffney. The move forces Daffney to relinquish the hold she had on Kong and eventually causes her to tap out as Alissa retains her Championship.

7)      TNA World Tag Team Championship: British Invasion © vs. Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle

Wolfe and Angle showcase their enhanced skills as a tag team as they perform as a well-oiled machine. Nevertheless, Magnus and Williams are firmly in control of Wolfe until he gets the hot tag. Angle comes in and cleans house with lariats and punches before hitting multiple German Suplex’s. He pulls down the straps and stalks Williams. He goes for the Angle Slam but Williams slips out and runs Angle chest first into the turnbuckle before hitting him with the Chaos Theory complete with a bridging pin. Wolfe manages to break it up at the count of two though. Magnus gets back in and he and Wolfe trade forearms until Wolfe rebounds off the ropes and hits a Jawbreaker Lariat. In this time Angle and Williams continued fighting until Angle got the upper hand. With Williams out on his feet Wolfe and Angle hit their double team finisher, a Lariat assisted German Suplex. Somehow, though, Williams manages to kick out. Angle and Wolfe are shocked. Angle tags Wolfe officially back into the match and the referee finally gets Angle to go to the outside. He’s pulled off the apron by Magnus who beats him down on the outside. Magnus grabs a steel chair and tries to get in the ring to attack Wolfe with it. The referee stops him but while his attention is on Magnus it allows Jeff Jarrett to come through the crowd and slide into the ring to hit Wolfe with a guitar. This allows Williams to cover Wolfe and when the referee turns around, he counts to three allowing British Invasion to retain the Tag Team Championships.

8)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

In a contest that is more than twenty minutes old both men have thrown everything at each other. AJ picks Nakamura up for the Stylesclash but Shinsuke kicks his way free, Styles tries to grab Nakamura but gets a straight right punch for his troubles. With AJ on shaky legs Nakamura senses his opportunity and goes for a Boma Ye but Styles ducks and then hits a Pele Kick. Both men are down but eventually AJ recovers to his feet, picks Nakamura up for the Stylesclash and hits it. Nakamura kicks out though! AJ is shocked but now has Nakamura exactly where he wants him. Nakamura is still down and in the very middle of the ring. AJ goes to the outside looking for the Springboard 450 Splash only for Nakamura to get his knees up. This allows Nakamura to recover and get to his feet. As AJ gets back to his knees Nakamura runs at him and hits a Boma Ye but AJ kicks out at 2.9. Nakamura looks exasperated but then has a moment of clarity. He picks AJ up and sets him up for Landslide but AJ manages to roll through and pick Shinsuke up for the Stylesclash. Knowing that didn’t get the job done earlier, AJ goes to the top and hits the Spiral Tap to retain the Championship.

Impact’s been Victory Road and Hardcore Justice:
-          Kurt Angle and Desmond Wolfe come out and demand that Jeff Jarrett comes down to the ring and explains his actions from last night. Jarrett is not forthcoming so instead Hogan comes out and makes tonight’s main event Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle versus Jeff Jarrett and the World Champion, AJ Styles.

-          Impact Main Event: AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett d. Desmond Wolfe and Kurt Angle
-          AJ and Jarrett win after a boatload of interference. After the match Angle gets on the microphone calling Fortune cowards and scumbags. AJ says you can call him a lot of things but a coward is not one of them. Angle challenges him to a World Title match at Hardcore Justice. AJ accepts. Hogan joins everybody at ringside and says since this is Hardcore Justice every match will have a stipulation. He says AJ vs. Angle will be a Submissions Count Anywhere match. AJ is fuming.

-          Wolfe comes out the next week and says he is sick of Jeff Jarrett. He cost him the World Title at Slammiversary and then, when Wolfe was distracted from his original plan of making Jarrett pay by a Tag Team Championship match, Jarrett cost him that too. He’s sick of it and he wants to fight him right now. Jarrett comes out and explains why he did what he did at Victory Road and Slammiversary. He says Wolfe is supremely talented but the problem is as soon as something better comes along Wolfe will be gone. If somebody else offers him more money, he will leave TNA high and dry. Jarrett says it’s painful enough when anyone does that but when a Champion does that it makes it worse than ever. Wolfe says that’s not who he is and he could have proven his loyalty to Jeff if only Jarrett had come to him first. But now it’s too late and Jarrett will pay for what he has done. Wolfe climbs out of the ring and heads up the ramp towards Jarrett who runs for his life.

-          Over the next couple of weeks Wolfe keeps trying to get his hands on Jarrett who just keeps running away. Eventually Hogan makes the match for Hardcore Justice: Wolfe vs. Jarrett in a Steel Cage match where you can only win by pinfall or submission.

-          Kazarian comes out and demands his rematch for “his X-Division Championship”. RVD comes out and accepts. He talks about how ECW paved the way for shows like Hardcore Justice and how he was a big part of ECW’s success. He wants the match at the PPV to be a Ladder Match. Kazarian agrees and says that is the single biggest mistake of RVD’s career.

-          Alissa comes out and calls out Daffney, she says she hasn’t been answering her calls and hopes Daffney isn’t holding what happened at Victory Road against her. Alissa says it was all about the Championship and she isn’t upset about Daffney trying to take advantage of her taking out Kong. Daffney still doesn’t appear though and as Alissa goes to leave, Kong’s music hits. Kong says she never got a one-on-one rematch and she wasn’t the one who tapped in last night’s triple threat so she wants to face Flash one more time for the Knockouts Title. Flash says she’s down for that but in the spirit of making their last match a definitive answer to who the better woman is, let’s make it two out of three falls.

-          Alissa finds Daffney backstage and says she knows things have been weird between them recently but she wants to fix that. She asks Daffney to be her tag partner again so they can get the rematch they never had, despite the Championships having changed hands since. Daffney agrees as long as Alissa promises that she won’t be too focused on her Knockouts Championship match with Kong to care about their Tag Title match. Alissa says she has plenty of focus for both because they are both important to her. Daffney agrees and they go off to find Hulk Hogan.

-          Later on it is announced that Hogan has granted Alissa and Daffney the rematch he had promised them when they got things back on track, it is also announced as a Street Fight. This leads to Sarita and Hamada bursting into Hogan’s office and saying they were screwed at Victory Road and they haven’t received their rematch yet. They want to know why Alissa and Daffney have jumped to the front of the queue. Hogan says they’ll get their turn but this month is Alissa and Daffney’s shot. They’ve waited a long time for their tag title rematch and are, as such, first in line. Sarita isn’t happy but she and Hamada accept Hulk’s decision before promising they’ll get to Tara and MsChif at some point, whether they have the tag belts or not.

-          Daniels and Joe come out to talk about how they’ve been bitter opponents for most of their careers but they’ve enjoyed teaming together recently and now want to go after the Tag Titles. They are interrupted though by Mr. Anderson and The Pope. Pope demands a match at Hardcore Justice. Daniels says “Are you guys not sick of losing yet”. More jibes like this occur until Anderson blows his top and takes out Joe and Daniels with a chair. He tells Pope to set up a table. Pope is reticent but finally does so. He helps Anderson place Daniels on a table and Anderson hits the Kenton Bomb through the table. Anderson picks up the mic and asks a lifeless Daniels “Who’s the joke now?”

-          Beer Money come out and call out Generation Me. They say they know they’ve made their lives a bit miserable recently but they’ve actually really enjoyed their battles against Gen Me and think of them as a great tag team. They challenge them to a first-time two-on-two encounter at Hardcore Justice. Gen Me accept. It is later announced that this match will take place under Tornado Tag Rules.

-          Hulk Hogan announces that the British Invasion will defend their Tag Team Titles at Hardcore Justice against the Motor City Machine Guns. Magnus and Williams come out and complain that the Guns don’t deserve a title shot. They lost the titles to them, lost the rematch, lost to Angle and Wolfe and then lost to Apollo 55. Hogan reminds Williams and Magnus of how the Guns rematch for the Tag Titles went down and how British Invasion cheated their ways to victory. He says he’s sick of their complaining, the match is set and as punishment for their whining he’s going to allow the Guns to pick the stipulation. A promo from the Guns later on reveals that they’ve chosen to have an Ultimate X match.

-          Jeff Hardy comes out and talks about beating Sting in the tag match at Victory Road. He says he is better than Sting and he’s going to prove it. He talks about Sting “letting down TNA the same way he let down WCW”. This brings Sting down to the ring and the two men brawl before being separated by security. This occurs on several Impact’s until Hogan makes the match official. Hardy/Sting II: No Holds Barred.

Hardcore Justice:
1)      X-Division Championship Ladder Match: Rob Van Dam © d. Frankie Kazarian

Towards the end of the match both men are fighting atop the ladder and RVD gets the upper hand, managing to kick Kazarian off and to the canvas. Instead of going for the title though he stands on the top and hits a Five Star Frog Splash onto Kazarian below. He then gets back to his feet, readjusts the ladder and climbs to the top to pull down the Championship.

2)      Knockouts Championship, Two out of Three Falls Match: Alissa Flash © d. Awesome Kong

Both women throw everything at each other but we’re over twelve minutes in when Kong goes for an Awesome Bomb only for Flash to reverse into a hurricanrana pin and pick up the first fall. Later on Flash finds herself in trouble on the top rope as Kong goes for a Superplex. Alissa fights out though and kicks Kong off the top rope. She stands up and goes for a diving hurricanrana in homage to her tag team partner Daffney but Kong holds on and hits an Awesome Bomb to pick up a pinfall and level the match at one fall apiece. The final fall is dramatic with both women clearly exhausted after such a hard fought match. Kong picks Flash up looking for the Implant Buster but Alissa kicks her way free. Kong runs at her but she uses her legs to scissor Kong to the floor. She locks on the Kondo Clutch and gets Kong to tap! Alissa wins the match by 2 falls to 1 and retains her Championship but what shape will she be in for her tag match later?

3)      Tables Match: Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe d. The Pope and Mr. Anderson

After several near misses, Daniels and Joe set up a table in the ring. They beat Pope down and place him on the table. Anderson tries to break this up but is mercilessly beaten down by Joe. Joe then holds Pope in place and Daniels hits a Best Moonsault Ever on Pope through a table to pick up the win for Fortune.

4)      Tornado Tag Rules: Beer Money vs. Generation Me

An absolutely crazy match comes to an end when Storm goes for a Superkick that Max Buck catches allowing Jeremy Buck to hit a Superkick of his own. Roode runs towards them, beer bottle in hand, but is caught by a double Superkick. Gen Me then hit More Bang For Your Buck on Storm and pick up the upset win.

5)      Street Fight for the Knockouts Tag Team Championship: MsChif and Tara © vs. Alissa Flash and Daffney

Alissa and Daffney work well through the entire match but Alissa is clearly drained from her match with Kong earlier in the night. Eventually MsChif takes Alissa out of the equation by tackling her from the ring apron through a table on the floor. This allows MsChif and Tara to isolate Daffney in the ring. Eventually MsChif puts her out of her misery by hitting the Desecrator for the victory. After the match Tara pulls Alissa into the ring and starts beating her down but Hamada and Sarita run out to make the save. They brawl with Tara and MsChif through the crowd and out of sight. Daffney slowly gets back to her feet and helps Alissa to her feet. She picks up Alissa’s Knockouts Championship and hands it to her before raising her partners hand. Both women are crying as they embrace in the centre of the ring. When Alissa pulls away Daffney hits her with her single leg version of the Codebreaker known as Daff Knee. She rolls out of the ring, gets a steel chair and proceeds to beat the living daylights out of Alissa with it. When she’s done she throws the chair down, picks up the Knockouts Championship, looks at it and then throws it down on top of Alissa before spitting on her and leaving.

6)      TNA World Tag Team Championship, Ultimate X: British Invasion © d. Motor City Machine Guns

Despite Ultimate X massively favouring the Guns, the British Invasion more than hold their own and in the closing stages have actually managed to take Sabin completely out of the match leaving them with a 2-on-1 advantage. Williams and Shelley find themselves both at the centre of the structure, exchanging punches and occasionally trying to grab the Championships. Eventually Williams notices that Magnus is just behind them so hits a Cutter on Shelley taking them both down from the structure and allowing Magnus to retrieve the Tag Titles.

7)      Steel Cage Match: Desmond Wolfe vs. Jeff Jarrett

A brutal, physical match comes to an end when Jarrett sets Wolfe up for The Stroke but Wolfe pulls him into a short-arm Lariat (nowadays known as The Rainmaker). He then picks Jarrett up and sets him up for a Tower of London before locking in the London Dungeon and making Jarrett tap out. After the match as Wolfe is celebrating Jarrett gets back to his feet, stands behind Wolfe and pulls him around aggressively so that Wolfe is facing him. Desmond is ready to continue the fight but Jarrett offers him his hand saying (without a mic but audibly) “That was fantastic, congratulations”. Wolfe looks somewhat perplexed but tentatively shakes Jarrett’s hand. Jarrett then applauds Wolfe and leaves the ring leaving Wolfe even more confused.

8)      No Holds Barred Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Sting

Jeff wins after a Twist of Fate on top of a pile of steel chairs in a match that saw both men brutalise each other with weapons from start to finish.

9)      Submissions Count Anywhere Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © vs. Kurt Angle

The match goes all over the arena but ends up back in the ring with Angle locking the Anklelock in on AJ but AJ reverses it into a Figure Four Leglock. Angle refuses to tap so AJ transitions into his version of the Muta Lock. Angle still won’t tap and fights his way out, he goes for an Angle Slam but AJ slips out and drags Angle down into a Fujiwara Armbar finally getting Angle to tap out.

Impact’s between Hardcore Justice and No Surrender
-          Sarita and Hamada come down to the ring after a frustrating month of being unable to get their hands on MsChif and Tara. They talk about how Tara and MsChif continue to break the rules and say that their rematch will have no rules to break because it will be No Holds Barred and not only will they take back their Knockouts Tag Team Titles but they will end Tara and MsChif’s terrorising of the Knockouts Division for good, and they’ll do it for Taylor.

-          Alissa Flash comes down to the ring and calls out Daffney. Alissa is practically in tears and begs Daffney to explain what she did last night. Daffney laughs and says she knew Alissa would be like this. Alissa thinks Daffney turned her back on her. That’s not true, Alissa turned her back on Daffney. She says Alissa promised she’d be focused on the Tag Title match but no, she went to Hogan and got the Knockouts Championship match put on the card first so that she’d be fresh for that and then if she wasn’t fresh for their Tag Title rematch who cared, right? Alissa says she has nothing to do with how the cards get put together. Daffney doesn’t believe her and says Alissa was completely useless in their tag match, she says she let Daffney down and not for the first time either. Remember when Alissa didn’t believe Daffney and blamed her for the attack on Taylor Wilde because Daffney does. She says Alissa disgusts her and with that she slaps Alissa. She slaps Alissa again begging Alissa to fight back but Flash refuses and just leaves the ring.

-          Backstage Hulk Hogan approaches Alissa to see if she is alright, she claims she is until Hogan says he has made Alissa vs. Daffney for No Surrender for the Knockouts Championship. Alissa is hugely distressed saying she doesn’t want to fight her friend. Hogan says he thinks that friendship was gone a long time ago and leaves Alissa who starts to sob.

-          Over the next few weeks Daffney keeps attacking Alissa and cutting promos saying how she will take what is most precious from Flash – her Knockouts Championship. Alissa never fights back. On the final Impact before No Surrender Daffney comes out after Alissa Flash has defeated Madison Rayne, she gets on the mic and runs down Alissa once again, this time though she goes a step too far and talks about Flash’s family leading to Alissa finally snapping and beating the holy hell out of Daffney. She then challenges Daffney to a first ever Last Woman Standing match. Later it is announced that Hogan has approved the stipulation.

-          Hulk Hogan announces a six-team gauntlet match to determine the new #1 contenders to the Tag Team Titles. Impact Main Event: Pope and Mr. Anderson d. Team Canada (Eric Young & Petey Williams), Generation Me d. The Pope and Mr. Anderson, Generation Me d. Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe, Motor City Machine Guns d. Generation Me, Beer Money d. Motor City Machine Guns.
-          Beer Money call out British Invasion and say they respect their talents but think they’re scumbags. Williams retorts saying they could say the same for Beer Money. Roode interjects saying everything they do, while it might not seem like it is the greatest thing in the world to do, is for a bigger purpose. It’s to save TNA whilst Williams and Magnus are only interested in themselves. British Invasion pretty much accept this and attack Beer Money, saying they’ll see them at No Surrender.

-          Generation Me call out the Motor City Machine Guns. They say they enjoyed their mini match last week in the gauntlet but point out they had already faced two teams by the time they faced the Guns. They want to challenge themselves against one of the best tag teams in TNA history when they’re both at 100%. They beat one of the best last month in Beer Money, now it’s the Guns turn. Sabin and Shelley accept their challenge. Mike Tenay later announces that Hogan has made the match official, with a #1 contenders stipulation added.

-          After failing in last week’s gauntlet match with his partner Samoa Joe, Daniels decides he wants another shot at the X-Division Championship. He throws out a challenge to RVD. RVD accepts and says teaching Fortune members a lesson is his favourite pastime. This leads to a brawl between the two men before security separate them.

-          AJ Styles comes out to the ring but before he can speak, Desmond Wolfe walks down to the ring. He says he beat Jeff Jarrett at Hardcore Justice and now he wants a match with AJ at No Surrender. He says AJ screwed him at Slammiversary and he wants another shot. AJ says all he’s heard since last night from Jeff is about how “we were wrong about Desmond, he might be one of us”. He says he doesn’t quite buy it but he’s prepared to give Wolfe a shot. Wolfe says AJ better not be trying to play mind games because he doesn’t care so it’s a waste of time. Whatever AJ says, at No Surrender Wolfe is going to give him the fight of his life.

-          Hulk Hogan announces that Kurt Angle, despite coming up short against AJ will get a chance to redeem himself at No Surrender when he goes one-on-one with the man who beat Sting at Hardcore Justice, Jeff Hardy. The winner will face either AJ Styles at Bound For Glory or Desmond Wolfe and AJ Styles (as he would get his rematch) in a three-way at Bound For Glory.

-          Sara Del Rey accosts Hulk Hogan is his office. She says she doesn’t appreciate being left off the Hardcore Justice card after she obliterated ODB at Victory Road in one of the most dominant displays in Knockouts history. Hogan says part of the reason Del Rey wasn’t on the Hardcore Justice card was the fact that she brutalised ODB so badly post-match. He says Del Rey must contain her rage to sanctioned contests and not allow it to spill over into post-match attacks. He makes her agree to that and then says since she thinks she is so dominant her next task will be to face the most dominant female in Knockouts history – Awesome Kong. And it will be a #1 contenders match – plenty of incentive to prove herself.

-          Mr. Anderson is sitting backstage when The Pope comes into the locker room. Anderson says he doesn’t think he can fight Fortune any more. He says all he has done since he came here has been lose to Fortune and he can’t take it any longer. Pope says he’s talking silly, this is a war and until they are destroyed they will continue to fight. Pope stands up, holds out his fist and says “For TNA”. Anderson bumps his fist on Pope’s and says “For TNA”. They find Hogan and ask him for another shot against Daniels and Joe. Hogan says Daniels is already facing RVD but he can give them Joe and any member of Fortune – aside from Sting, who will not be medically cleared until Bound For Glory after his brutal match with Jeff Hardy at Hardcore Justice – that Pope and Anderson want to face. Pope suggests Joe and Jarrett since he blames Jarrett for everything that has happened over the past nine months. Hogan says he’ll make it happen.

No Surrender
1)      #1 Contenders Match: Sara Del Rey d. Awesome Kong

In what turns into a powerhouse battle Del Rey showcases her strength several times by hitting huge moves on Kong. Eventually though Kong has the upper hand and goes for the Awesome Bomb but Del Rey fights out and hits a modified version of the Royal Butterfly (just a standard Butterfly Suplex without the bit where she holds them in position on her thighs) for the pin and the win.

2)      Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe d. The Pope and Mr. Anderson

Fortune pick up the win when Joe hits the Muscle Buster on Anderson. Post-match Anderson is almost in tears and has to be basically dragged up the ramp by Pope.

3)      Knockouts Tag Team Championship, No Disqualification: MsChif and Tara © vs. Hamada and Sarita

Both teams take full advantage of the lack of rules beating the holy hell out of each other. Eventually it comes down to MsChif and Sarita. Hamada has hit a Moonsault from the top rope to the outside on Tara through a table and both of them are out of commission. Sarita and MsChif fight back and forth but Sarita gets the upper hand and sets up a steel chair the way you would if you were going to sit on it. She grabs MsChif and looks to hit the Tiger Driver on the chair but MsChif fights out and sprays green mist in Sarita’s eyes before hitting the Desecrator on the chair leading to the pinfall victory.

4)      #1 Contenders for the Tag Titles Match: Generation Me vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Both teams get in plenty of offence in a back and forth match with lots of tag team work and slightly lax tag team rules. Eventually though Gen Me take Sabin out of the equation with three successive superkicks followed by a double superkick. With Shelley isolated they beat him down before hitting More Bang For Your Buck to become the #1 Contenders for the Tag Team Championships.

5)      X-Division Championship: Rob Van Dam © vs. Christopher Daniels

The end of a thrilling X-Division match comes when RVD hits a high thrust kick on Daniels before leaping to the top rope. He goes for the Five Star Frog Splash but Daniels, playing possum, gets the knees up. When a doubled over RVD recovers to a fully vertical position and turns around Daniels kicks him in the gut and hits Angels Wings. He follows it up with the Best Moonsault Ever to win the X-Division Championship for the first time in almost four years.

6)      TNA World Tag Team Championships: British Invasion © vs. Beer Money

There is cheating galore from both teams in this match and the finish comes in a similar vein. After the referee is knocked down Storm tries to spit beer in the eyes of Williams but he ducks and it hits Roode. Roode then swings the beer bottle he had in his hand but accidentally takes out Storm with it. Williams then hits the Chaos Theory on Roode into the smashed glass. The referee recovers and counts the three allowing British Invasion to retain the Tag Team Championship. Post-match Gen Me run out and lay British Invasion out with Superkicks.

7)      Knockouts Championship, Last Woman Standing: Alissa Flash © vs. Daffney

In a match that is somehow even more brutal than the Knockouts Tag Championship match Flash and Daffney put each other through hell in this encounter. Chairs, Kendo Sticks, Tables, Ladders are just a few of the weapons utilised by the women but the finish finally comes when Alissa catches Daffney when she goes for Daff Knee. Alissa turns it into a sit out Powerbomb and the referee starts his count but Alissa isn’t done. She goes to the outside and retrieves a Barbed Wire board from under the ring. Bringing it into the ring she picks up Daffney, who spits in Alissa’s face. Alissa kicks Daffney in the gut and hits the Kudo Driver onto the Barbed Wire Board. The referee counts to ten and after a bloody war Alissa retains her Championship.

8)      #1 Contenders Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle

This contest comes to an end when Jeff goes for a Twist of Fate but it is reversed by Angle into an Angle Slam. Unfortunately for Angle, Jeff’s momentum and sub-conscious ring awareness allows him to roll out of the ring to the floor. Angle gets and rolls Jeff back into the ring. He goes straight for the Anklelock but Jeff is fighting hard, he makes it towards the turnbuckle and rolls through causing Angle to go head first into the turnbuckle. Jeff takes advantage and hits the Twist of Fate. He is clearly still knocked a little loopy from the earlier Angle Slam as he struggles to the top. He hits the Swanton Bomb though and the referee counts to three but Jeff is out cold. And both men’s shoulders were down. The impact when Hardy hit the Swanton Bomb and the fact that he was already still damaged from the earlier Angle Slam meant he lay motionless as the referee counted both their shoulders down for the three. The match is ruled a draw. When both men eventually recover they want five more minutes but Hogan comes out and says the result is final and he will spend tonight deciding what to do with regards to the #1 contendership and announce that decision tomorrow night on Impact.

9)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles © vs. Desmond Wolfe

Fortune accompany AJ down to the ring but as he gets into the ring Jarrett leads Fortune away from ringside and nods at Wolfe as he leaves. The match starts with chain wrestling and continues with lots of storytelling based on their match from Slammiversary. As we head into the finishing stretch AJ is in command. He throws Wolfe into the corner and hits his forearm smash, a dazed Wolfe almost falls out of the corner and AJ kicks him in the stomach before going for a Stylesclash but Wolfe counters with a back body drop but he needs to use the ropes to hold himself up. AJ charges but Desmond ducks and AJ spills to the outside. Wolfe is still so exhausted from the beating he has taken that he collapses again and the referee starts counting AJ out. AJ makes it back into the ring at the count of 9, Tenay remarks how strange it is that Styles wouldn’t take the count out defeat since he would retain his Championship. Back in the ring AJ is first back to his feet but he and Wolfe trade strikes. Eventually Styles goes for a lariat but Desmond catches his arm and locks in the London Dungeon. Styles crawls towards the ropes but as he’s just a fingertip away Wolfe drags him back to the centre of the ring, the momentary release of pressure allows AJ to tie Desmond up into a small package but Wolfe kicks out at 2. Wolfe goes for a lariat but AJ ducks and hits the Pele Kick. He picks Desmond up and hits the Stylesclash but Wolfe kicks out at 2. AJ recuperates quickly and goes to the top rope. Exhaustion plays a part though and when he gets to the top Wolfe manages to fall towards the ropes and shake them, knocking AJ off the top and crotching him atop the turnbuckle. Wolfe recovers and goes for the Tower of London but AJ pushes him off, drops from the turnbuckle and when Wolfe turns around he eats a discus forearm. With Wolfe down AJ climbs to the apron and hits his Springboard 450 Splash, 1, 2…2.9 and Wolfe kicks out! AJ can’t believe it. He queries it with the referee and then just sits flabbergasted. Eventually he goes over and picks Wolfe up, looking for another Stylesclash but Desmond fights out. AJ hits another discus forearm but Wolfe rebounds off the ropes and hits a desperation Jawbreaker Lariat. He falls on top of AJ, 1, 2…2.9! Now it’s AJ’s turn to kick out. Both men are down but when they eventually make it back to their feet Desmond slaps AJ in the face. Both men exchange slaps until AJ lands a brutal right hand that shakes Desmond’s foundations. AJ picks him up and hits the Stylesclash BUT WOLFE KICKS OUT AT 1! He gets back to his feet and slaps a dumbfounded AJ once again but AJ kicks him in the gut and hits another Stylesclash before climbing the ropes and hitting the Spiral Tap for the three count to win the match. Post-match all of Fortune come out and surround the fallen warriors. Eventually AJ recovers and hugs them all. As Desmond starts to recover in the middle of the circle all the Fortune members and Jarrett applaud him. He gets back to his feet, clearly dazed and AJ steps in from the circle – offering Desmond a handshake. Wolfe slaps AJ’s hand away but then hugs him and raises AJ’s hand. Tenay and Taz wonder if Wolfe has betrayed TNA and joined Fortune or if this is just two warriors showing respect after a hard fought battle as the pay-per-view goes off the air.

Impact’s between No Surrender and Bound For Glory
-          Hulk Hogan comes out to address the controversy surrounding the #1 contendership for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. He says a result of the finish to the Jeff Hardy/Kurt Angle match last night he has decided that on October 10th at Bound For Glory it will be AJ Styles defending his TNA Heavyweight Championship of the World against the Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle AND the Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy!

-          A four on four match is announced for Bound For Glory with Sting, Samoa Joe, Jeff Jarrett and any partner of their choosing taking on Mr. Anderson, RVD, Matt Morgan and The Pope.

-          Later in the night Jeff Jarrett reveals the man he’s chosen to join himself, Sting and Samoa Joe at Bound For Glory is Desmond Wolfe. Wolfe comes out and shakes hands with Jarrett. This brings out Kurt Angle who questions his friend and asks what on earth possessed him to join “this prick”. He reminds Wolfe of everything Jarrett has cost him, how much he has cost them. Wolfe says Angle needs to see the bigger picture. He says everything Jarrett has been saying is true and he wants to fight for the best TNA. He says he knows Angle isn’t one of Hogan’s people, just here to make money out of other people’s hard work, with no care about the actual heart of TNA or TNA itself. He wants Angle to become a part of their movement. Angle refuses, says he’s disappointed in Wolfe and walks away.

-          Backstage Pope gathers together the members of his team for Bound For Glory and they are all very downtrodden, seemingly expecting another defeat and being completely devoid of fight but Pope cuts a very preacher-esque promo about how they have to be the force of change and whilst they’ve lost seemingly every battle so far, they WILL win the war. This fires the other three up and all four men seem in a positive frame of mind heading into Bound For Glory. Even Anderson, who musters up a smile as Pope leaves the room.

-          Hogan cuts a promo backstage talking about the worldwide expansion of TNA, he talks about their strong relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling and mentions that this is going to extend to other companies too including CMLL who already have a strong working relationsip with New Japan. In this vein Hogan announces a dream three-way match to determine the best X-Division wrestler in the world when Christopher Daniels defends his Championship against Japanese legend Jushin Thunder Liger and Mexican superstar Mistico. Hogan says TNA is looking to continue its strong relationship with these and other international entities and we can expect the announcements to keep coming over the coming weeks and months.

-          AJ Styles is in the ring and talking about Hulk Hogan. He says Hogan is showing exactly what a scumbag he is. For the second time in less than a year a #1 contenders match has ended inconclusively and rather than doing the fair thing and having a rematch to decide the #1 contender he decides to stack the deck against AJ and make it a triple threat match.

-          Impact Main Event, All Star X-Division Match: Team TNA (Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin and Jay Lethal) vs. Team Rest of the World (Jushin Thunder Liger, Mistico and Zack Sabre, Jr.)

-          The Rest of the World team pick up the victory when Mistico hits La Mistica on Chris Sabin to earn the submission victory. This is pretty much just an exhibition match to familiarise the TNA audience with the likes of Mistico and Zack Sabre, Jr.

-          Hogan announces an 8-Man Ultimate X match for Bound For Glory to determine the #1 contender to the X-Division Championship. There will be four native TNA wrestlers (announced as Alex Shelley, Amazing Red, Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian). Following his exploits in last week’s Impact main event Pro Wrestling NOAH star Zack Sabre, Jr. is announced as the fifth entrant into the match. The other three are all confirmed as “outside talents” that will only be revealed when they make their entrances at Bound For Glory.

-          MsChif and Tara come down to the ring and talk about putting to rest the ghosts of Hamada and Sarita and finally being able to move on. Before they can continue Hamada and Sarita come down to the ring. MsChif and Tara immediately bail and all of a sudden Hamada and Sarita are attacked from behind by three people wearing hoodies. The hoods are pulled down to reveal Saraya and Britani Knight along with their manager Rebecca Knox. Saraya gets on the mic and talks about taking everything she has always deserved and not waiting a day longer. She said her daughter becoming as good as her convinced her that they needed to make an impact sooner rather than later or Britani would be stuck wrestling in indies as long as she had. No more. They continue to beat down Sarita and Hamada before leaving the ring. Mike Tenay later announces that “Hamada and Sarita will take on the so-called Knight Dynasty at Bound For Glory”.

-          After Hamada and Sarita drove them out of the ring earlier Tara and MsChif cut a promo backstage talking about their dominance of the Knockouts Tag Team division and announce they will be throwing out an open challenge at Bound For Glory, inviting any team to take them on and lose to the two most dangerous women in the world.

-          Sara Del Rey cuts a promo talking about how she is a monster and at her first Bound For Glory she is going to take the Knockouts Championship from around Alissa Flash’s waist. She says she is an unstoppable force and at Bound For Glory Alissa will find that out. This brings Alissa out who talks about everything she’s had to overcome in her time as Knockouts Champion. From her tag partner turning on her and the absolute war she endured at No Surrender to her battles with Awesome Kong. She says Del Rey is a monster, she completely agrees but she’s starting to make a name as a monster slayer and at Bound For Glory that legend will continue to grow.

-          Generation Me talk about their fast growth since their debut in TNA and how much being in the World Tag Team Title match at Bound For Glory means to them. They talk about how big their victories against Motor City and Beer Money were for them. They talk about how much they respect those teams when they are interrupted by British Invasion. Doug Williams laughs and calls the Buck’s “punks” saying they haven’t proven anything yet because British Invasion have beaten all of those teams too and better yet, they did it when there was gold on the line too. Magnus says Gen Me are good and maybe one day they’ll even be Tag Team Champions but it will not be at Bound For Glory.

-          Beer Money are in the ring and talk about the fact that they don’t have a match at Bound For Glory. They wax lyrical about how they are the greatest tag team in TNA history and are owed a spot on the biggest show of the year. They challenge any team man enough to fight them to come down to the ring now. All of a sudden out walk “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard, the team known as Bad Intentions who are the IWGP Tag Team Champions. They get in the ring and challenge Beer Money to a match at Bound For Glory. Beer Money willingly accept, as long as Bad Intentions put their Titles on the line. Bad Intentions agree but neither side wants to wait for Bound For Glory and all four men brawl until Anderson hits the Gun Stun on Storm. He and Bernard then hit the Giant Gun Stun on Roode before posing with their Championships.

-          A week later Bad Intentions have a warm up match against two local jobbers. They beat them in less than thirty seconds. Not to be outdone Beer Money face the same two jobbers themselves a week later and beat them in rapid time too – though not quite as fast as Bad Intentions did.

-          A contract signing ends the final Impact before Bound For Glory with all three members of the World Heavyweight Championship match in the ring. They all cut separate promos talking about their desire to win the World Title. Angle talks about how it has been too long since he held the title, Jeff says that it’s time for a change and AJ declares the title will not leave Fortune because he can’t allow any one of Hogan’s cronies to get their hands on the most important possession in TNA. All three men sign the contract and then AJ cheap shot’s Jeff leading to a 3-man brawl that is still going as Impact signs off. Tenay invites us to join them at Bound For Glory for the biggest show in TNA’s history!

Bound For Glory
1)      Ultimate X, #1 Contenders Match: Alex Shelley vs. Amazing Red vs. Chris Sabin vs. Dick Togo vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Koji Kanemoto vs. TAKA Michinoku vs. Zack Sabre, Jr.

After a fast-paced, high intensity match Koji Kanemoto becomes the #1 contender by pulling down the contract hanging from the structure.

2)      Hamada and Sarita vs. The Knight Dynasty (w/ Rebecca Knox)

The Knight Dynasty win a showcase match that basically is put together to show the talent of Britani, Saraya and even the force Knox can be at ringside. Hamada and Sarita still come out looking strong though but Britani wins the match by hitting the Knight Light on Hamada.

3)      Open Challenge, Knockouts Tag Team Championship: MsChif and Tara © vs. Awesome and Wilde (Awesome Kong and Taylor Wilde)

MsChif and Tara come out and cut a promo before inviting out their “victims” for the evening. No-one appears and MsChif says “a wise choice” before suggesting she and Tara can take the night off now. But all of a sudden a familiar theme plays and Taylor Wilde comes down to the ringside area. She hasn’t been seen since MsChif and Tara viciously took her out when they first came onto the scene as a duo. Tara and MsChif laugh and question whether Taylor had learned anything. When she goes 1-on-2 against the baddest women on the planet she loses – badly. Taylor then says “Who says I’m going 1-on-2?” and with that Awesome Kong’s music hits and both Tara and MsChif’s faces drop. The match comes to an end when Tara and MsChif have control of Kong and are beating her down but out of nowhere Taylor, who has been down on the outside for a while after an extensive beating from Tara and MsChif, comes in the ring like a house of fire. She takes out both Tara and MsChif by herself. In the meantime Kong has recovered and she hits an Awesome Bomb on Tara whilst Taylor kicks MsChif’s lifeless body out of the ring. Taylor tags herself in, climbs to the top rope and then onto Kong’s shoulders before hitting a Frog Splash from Kong’s shoulders onto Tara and pinning her to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles for her and Kong.

4)      X-Divison Championship, Three Way Dance: Christopher Daniels © vs. Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Mistico

A dream X-Division Match comes to an end when Mistico hits La Mistica on Liger but it is broken up by Daniels hitting the Best Moonsault Ever onto both men. He then picks Liger up and hits Angel’s Wings for the 1, 2, 3.

5)      Desmond Wolfe, Jeff Jarrett, Samoa Joe and Sting vs. Matt Morgan, Mr. Anderson, Rob Van Dam and The Pope

As the match is reaching its conclusion Pope has been beaten down for a long time in the ring but he manages to hit an enziguri on Jarrett. Both men crawl towards their respective corners and Jarrett tags in Joe but as Pope goes to tag in Anderson he drops off the apron. Pope is confused but then RVD and Morgan drop down too. They leave the ringside area and walk up the ramp. As RVD passes the camera he says, “We’re here”. Pope is completely alone and eventually Joe beats him down, sets him up and hits the Muscle Buster for the win.

6)      IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: Bad Intentions © vs. Beer Money

A hard hitting IWGP Tag Team Championship match comes to an end when Bad Intentions go for Magic Killer on Storm but Roode makes the save. He hits a spinebuster on Bernard but gets caught with a Gun Stun from Anderson. Anderson turns round into a Last Call Superkick from Storm who in turn is taken out by a Big Boot from Bernard. All four men are down. They all recover at the same time and start exchanging right hands. Anderson clotheslines Roode over the top rope to the floor whilst Storm has the upper hand on Bernard leaning on the ropes at the other side of the ring. Storm whips Bernard towards the centre but Bernard reverses it and then whips Storm back into the ropes from which they came, Storm rebounds straight into the Bad Intentions’ Giant Gun Stun. That gives them the pin and the win.

7)      Knockouts Championship: Alissa Flash © vs. Sara Del Rey

In a match that goes over fifteen minutes in length Flash and Del Rey throw everything at one another. We hit the finishing stretch with Del Rey in charge. She keeps going for the Royal Butterfly but Flash keeps fighting out. Meanwhile Flash has hit Del Rey with a lot of big moves including the Curb Stomp but hasn’t attempted any of her finishing moves yet. Del Rey puts the boots to Alissa and brags to the crowd about how she’s the most dominant woman in the world. When she turns around she is met by a flurry of forearms from Alissa who then hits the Air Raid Crash for a near fall. She picks Sara up and goes for the Kudo Driver but Del Rey fights out. Both women exchange a forearm that knocks both to the mat. Flash is back up first but her attempted forearm is blocked and she takes a knee to the midsection before Del Rey finally manages to hit the Royal Butterfly but NO! Alissa kicks out! Del Rey can’t believe it, nobody kicks out of the Royal Butterfly! She starts to lose her cool and threatens the referee. This allows Flash time to recover and when Sara turns round she is caught by Alissa who transitions straight into the Kondo Clutch. Del Rey looks like she may tap but finally manages to drag herself to the ropes. Frustrated, Alissa picks Del Rey up and brings her towards the turnbuckle. She is going for a top rope Air Raid Crash but Del Rey fights out and hits a top rope Royal Butterfly. With that move the referee counts three and Sara Del Rey is the new Knockouts Champion.

8)      TNA World Tag Team Championship: British Invasion © vs. Generation Me

The Tag Team Championship match swings back and forth in a tightly fought contest until British Invasion really take control with a concentrated beat down of Max Buck. Eventually though Magnus gets sloppy and shows off too much allowing Max sometime to recover and when Magnus picks him up Max pushes him off and hits a superkick. He makes the diving tag to Jeremy who comes in and takes both members of British Invasion down with repeated kicks, forearms and leg lariats. Eventually though the numbers game catches up with him and British Invasion take charge again. Williams sends Magnus to the top rope to prepare for the Elbow Drop and goes for the Chaos Theory on Jeremy but Jeremy manages to break the grip in the German Suplex portion of the move and lands on his feet! With Williams prone Max – who has climbed to the top rope - hits a frog splash on Williams. Magnus jumps down from the top rope but is greeted with a double superkick and he falls out of the ring. With Gen Me alone with Williams they wait for him to recover then catch him with a double superkick before picking him up and hitting More Bang For Your Buck to pick up the win and the Tag Team Championships.

9)      TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Three Way Dance: AJ Styles © vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle

The match goes in typical triple threat fashion but with the three men working in plenty of three person spots as well keeping the match fresh. Eventually it comes down to just AJ and Angle with Jeff on the outside. AJ goes for the Pele Kick but Angle catches it and tries to lock in the Anklelock, before he can though AJ rolls through towards the turnbuckle. Angle sees this coming after it happened just a month earlier against Hardy and blocks the turnbuckle impact with his hands. He turns round and ducks an attempted forearm from AJ before pulling AJ back by the tights and going for an Angle Slam. AJ rolls through with an arm drag though and both men have the same idea, hitting each other with a clothesline. With all three men down the action stops but then all of a sudden Hulk Hogan’s music hits. He comes down to the ring and looks at a downed AJ. Tenay implores Hogan not to compromise his values just to get the title off AJ, despite all the stuff he has pulled. Hogan picks up one of his crutches and looks like he’s going to hit AJ but all of a sudden Fortune and Jarrett rush the ring, positioning themselves between Hogan and AJ. Hogan begs off into the corner but from behind Fortune come Morgan, RVD, Anderson and – to the surprise of everyone – Rhino and The British Invasion. They attack Fortune with chairs as Hogan stands and watches. They batter Fortune back up the stage and to the back using the weapons as a means of evening up the fight against the superior numbers that Fortune have. AJ and Angle are both starting to recover and Hogan goes to hit AJ with the crutch but Jeff Hardy grabs it out of his hand from behind. Hardy says “Not this way Hulk…” and with that Hardy smashes the crutch over AJ’s back. He then does the same to Angle. Hardy then picks up Angle and hits the Twist of Fate and the stunned referee who has totally lost control of the contest, slowly counts the pinfall. Jeff demands that he award him the World Title. He holds it above his head and screams “IMMORTAL – FOREVER” as Hogan hugs him and the other members (Morgan, Anderson, Rhino, RVD and British Invasion) make their way to the ring to celebrate with the new Champion.

So there we have it. Easily the longest article in the history of the Rebooking Series standing at over 20,000 words in length (longer than my University dissertation) but still, there is no reason why it has taken me and Jonathon a whole year to write this. But circumstances and life as well as a lack of motivation at times meant it has indeed taken us that long.

I hope you agree it was worth the wait though. This was the hardest thing we’ve ever booked because booking a whole company requires a lot more effort, time and planning than one angle does. And booking it for an entire ten months as well was deeply draining.

Me and Jonathon are in the process of writing a couple of more Rebooking Series articles at the minute and although I can promise there won’t be as long between Part VIII and Part IX as there was between Part VII and Part VIII I won’t be silly enough to give a timescale as I’ve been promising this was close to release for about six months now – I feel like George R. R. Martin in terms of promise breaking. There is also the small matter of a slightly different, WCW related product we are currently working on that hopefully will be in public view before long.

Until then though we hope you enjoyed the long overdue Part VIII of the Rebooking Series. We welcome any comments whether they be positive or negative and you can follow me (@watadam20) and Jonathon (@JLAspey) on twitter for updates on future articles and projects as well as plenty of other inane wrestling related drivel.

Thanks and we’ll see you next time!
